At the outset, do always remember that our mind is an extraordinary organ.
And more extraordinary and powerful is our subconscious mind, and similarly, equal power lies in our conscious efforts to programme our subconscious.
We are almost familiar to the fact that we have dual minds, rather we can mention it as two levels of our mind, one is the conscious mind level and the other subconscious mind level. They are also best known as the waking mind and sleeping mind.
The waking or conscious mind is the reasoning and decision making mind, which is voluntarily involved in our day to day activities, whereas the subconscious mind or the sleeping mind is involuntary, and functions automatically, without being dependent on the conscious mind.
The conscious mind commands and the subconscious find follows immediately and exactly.
The subconscious mind cannot distinguish between true or false, good or bad. It puts to action whatever thoughts and beliefs we feed into. Our habitual and continuous thinking pattern about anything influences and get impresses in our subconscious mind. All things that happened to us are based on thoughts that got seeded in our subconscious mind through belief. There it the duty of our conscious minds to guard away any destructive thoughts, on its way to the subconscious mind.
As the subconscious mind is often referred to as the garden of our mind, therefore it is entirely up to our conscious minds that what we allow there to grow, flowers or weeds, based on the kinds of thought seeds we plant.
It is the subjective mind. Joseph murphy says, ‘ Your subconscious mind takes cognizance of its environment by means independent of five senses. It has the capacity of clairvoyance and clairaudience’
The best part of this part of the mind is that it is unquestioning and non-arguable, and it is amenable to suggestion. Therefore, with conscious efforts, one can amend the wrong storage of thoughts and beliefs, into positive ones. Since the subconscious brain does not make comparisons, neither does it reasons, therefore by conscious auto-suggestion, one has the opportunity to instil correct values into the mind.
Saying positive affirmations daily has the power to develop the correct thoughts in the subconscious mind, and mould it in a constructive way. Instead of saying, ‘I can’t do this’, I am not good at this’, calmly sit down, search for your subconscious mind, talk to it, give it proper direction like, ‘I can do it, I will surely give it a try’, the subconscious mind will surely restore you with the power back and mend the situation in its own way .
Another interesting feature of the subconscious mind is that it never sleeps nor rest. It is always in work mode, 24×7. Actually, it works even better when the conscious part of our mind is in rest or sleep. This is because the conscious part of the brain interferes with the normal functioning of our body functions with uploaded factors of worry, anxiety fear etc. But when asleep, the subconscious mind controls all the vital functions of our body, without the involvement of the conscious mind i.e. heart continues beating, lungs continues functioning etc.
The subconscious mind has miraculous healing and creating power. Nothing appears on your surface unless there is a corresponding mental pattern going on inside your mind. So, making sure that conscious efforts are made to feed the correct thoughts into our mind, actually determines the flow of life.
3 simple steps to train the subconscious mind:
- Visualization: Visualization or creative visualization is a powerful process of creating what you want. A man with the help of his imaginative power can bring his desire into reality or increases his pace towards his dreams. Determination, definite purpose and extreme desire, when put together to bring the best image in your mental screen, creates the necessary vibration to transform it into reality.
- Affirmation: Use of definite, and specific affirmations, or positive notes, wires a positive belief system in the subconscious mind. Feeding affirm thoughts in our mind, basically in the present tense, like ‘I can do it’, I can overcome it’ , helps to overlap unwanted negative thoughts, and a new pattern of thought process get installs.
- Auto-suggestion: Auto-suggestion is said to be a powerful mind programming technique, through which thought is forced into the mind. Napoleon Hill stated that auto-suggestion includes all the self-administered stimuli which reach one’s mind through the five senses. The dominating thoughts that reign in the conscious mind voluntarily reaches the subconscious. The conscious use of words in repeated nature, well mixed with emotions and feelings, influence the subconscious mind, the way of voluntarily exercise the control so that the best of the thoughts get seeded in the subconscious mind brings desirable results.
